Hello! I'm so happy you have made your way to my website. I'm Olivia Fledderman, a registered dietitian nutritionist, and the owner of Sprouted in Strength. I operate Sprouted in Strength out of my hometown of Brookville, Indiana.
So to quickly catch you up on how I came to the point that I am at, when I was eleven years old, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Throughout her diagnosis, our family worked with a dietitian who helped us to change our nutrition and lifestyle habits. Through my mom's journey with cancer and continuing through my teenage years, I developed a strong passion for nutrition and the role that it can play in preventing diseases. Following my passion, I pursued a degree in dietetics at University of Cincinnati after high school graduation. Through the program at University of Cincinnati, I completed all of my required supervised practice hours, and following graduation I passed the exam to earn my credentials through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
While attending college, I worked on a farm focusing on sustainable vegetable and livestock production. I also began volunteering on a local food council which supports our local farmers and food systems. These experiences helped to shape my whole foods approach in terms of nutrition.
For many years, I've had a dream of owning my own business where I could help to educate you and our local communities about healthier ways of living. However, following college graduation, I also knew I wanted to work alongside other dietitians to help me to gain more knowledge and develop a stronger base as a nutrition professional. For two years, I gained knowledge and experience while working in a local, rural hospital setting where I specialized in outpatient nutrition education as well as community nutrition. Eventually, I felt a stronger calling to follow my true passions...so here I am!
I officially dedicated all of my career focus to Sprouted in Strength in June of 2022. My mission through Sprouted in Strength is to provide you and our communities with the opportunity to learn how to promote overall wellness in an atmosphere that supports and encourages you to implement positive changes into your daily routine with hopes of preventing diseases and eliciting a healthier version of yourself and our communities alike. Not only do I work with individuals, but I also serve as a consultant dietitian for several area organizations.
When I am not working I enjoy being active and spending as much time as possible in nature. I enjoy hiking (especially in National Parks), kayaking, biking, running, working out at the gym, gardening, preserving foods, creating new recipes, and I'm always looking for new adventures. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and I LOVE meeting new people. With that being said, I would love to meet YOU and help you to achieve your health and wellness goals!
